A little history

Established in Lausanne by the greatly missed Marcel Pasche, the Swiss section has around 70 member journalists working in everything from the press to television and radio. Most hail from the French part of Switzerland, but they are joined by several colleagues from the German part of the country and the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino.

This major national club is part of the International SCIJ and each year it stages a tried and tested series of outings that includes training sessions at the beginning of the season, a weekend of cross-country skiing, ski-touring, a summer get-together, and culminates with the Marcel Trophy.

Club members can thus gather worlds away from the office to play, ski and chat together about the profession and current affairs. The club also provides members with a chance to express their competitive side in sporting fashion in a giant slalom contest for the traditional Marcel Trophy, which takes place every March.
