Amigne, Arvine, Fendant, Humagne, Freisamer... the list goes on and on. Behind these names lie the elegant flavours of grape varieties with centuries of history.

The Swiss are justifiably proud of their wines. Comparisons are often made between the rich range of grape varieties and the mix of cultures that characterizes this little multilingual country, where the fruit of the vine has been cultivated since Roman times. With annual production today at 1.1 million hectolitres (with white wines slightly outnumbering reds), wine-making has come to symbolize a territory whose wine-makers give their all to produce the best. Swiss Wine Promotion, representing Swiss wines, aims to cultivate a spirit of excellence by combining tradition with innovation.

Swiss wines will take centre stage throughout the week of 22-29 March 2014 at Champéry.
